Following The Christ We Confess

This teaching challenges believers to move beyond a superficial confession of faith. While it is possible to correctly declare “Jesus is Lord,” it is equally possible to hold a flawed understanding of who He is and what His mission entails. Using Peter’s rebuke in Matthew 16 as a lens, this message urges us to find ourselves within the biblical narrative, recognizing that our personal stories must align with God’s redemptive plan. It is a critical call to self-examination: We are not permitted to project our own desires onto God or dictate the terms of our free will. True discipleship requires us to follow the Christ we have confessed—not a version of Him molded by our own expectations or comfort zones.
