In her message on Matthew 14:13-21, Pastor Michelle Harding teaches that genuine compassion requires us to move beyond our own grief, schedules, and self-interest to truly notice the needs of others. Although Jesus sought solitude to mourn His cousin John, the crowd’s suffering gripped Him. God’s counter-cultural response to our human measurements is: “YOU give them something to eat.” This reveals that we are the answer—God’s miracles always move through human hands. We must receive from God with gratitude, bless what we have (recognizing Him as the source), and allow it to be broken and shared. As faithful stewards, we are blessed to be a blessing.
