Who We Are

Church of the King is a Spirit-filled Christian community rooted in Scripture, centered in Christ, and alive in the Holy Spirit.

We are a church seeking to live faithfully in the way of Jesus through worship, discipleship, prayer, weekly participation in the Eucharist, and life together. Drawing from the richness of the historic Christian faith while remaining open to the renewing work of the Spirit today, we desire to become a people formed more deeply in love, holiness, compassion, and the presence of God.

We believe the Church is more than a gathering to attend, it is a people being shaped together into the likeness of Christ for the sake of the world.
 

Our Story

Church of the King has been serving the Eastern Shore community for fifteen years as a place of worship, prayer, and ministry. As our community continues to deepen in the faith, we are seeking to cultivate a church life that is both rooted and Spirit-filled, honoring the richness of the historic Christian faith while embracing the living presence and power of the Holy Spirit today.

Our desire is not simply to build services or programs, but to become a community shaped by the love of Christ and attentive to the work of God in our everyday life and the world around us. 
 

Our Worship

Our worship reflects both the beauty of ancient Christian practice and the expectancy of Pentecostal spirituality.

Through Scripture reading, prayer, communion, worship, anointing, Spirit-led ministry, and the teaching of the Word, we gather each week to encounter the presence of God together.

We value reverence and freedom, formation and encounter, sacrament and Spirit. We believe worship is not performance, but participation in the life of God and the work of the Holy Spirit in and among His people.

Whether through quiet prayer, joyful praise, receiving the Eucharist, or praying together at the altar, we desire our gatherings to create space for people to encounter Christ in meaningful and transformative ways.

We hold the vision of Christ for the ultimate good of the world: “On earth, as it is in heaven.”

We are becoming a people who embody the life and love of Jesus Christ in our homes, relationships, communities, and world.

We believe the Holy Spirit continues to heal, restore, empower, and transform lives today. Through the grace of the Holy Spirit we seek to cultivate a church marked by compassion, hospitality, spiritual formation, prayer, and faithful presence within our community.

At Church of the King, we long to see people:

  • and empowered by the Holy Spirit to live as witnesses of Christ in the world in both word and deed.
 

What to Expect

When you visit Church of the King, you will find a welcoming and relaxed environment centered around worship, prayer, Scripture, communion, and life together.

Our services are intentionally unhurried and participatory, creating space for worship, reflection, prayer, and attentiveness to the presence of God. Alongside biblical teaching and worship through music, our worship gatherings include weekly participation in the Eucharist, opportunities for personal prayer ministry, anointing, testimony, and moments of Spirit-led response. We gather together to encounter Christ and be formed in His love.

We are a multi-cultural, multigenerational congregation, and we value the warmth and connection that come from growing together as a community of faith. Families worship together during our gatherings, and children are welcomed as an important part of the life of the church.
